TENDAI Manatsa reckons the Covid-19 pandemic will certainly end but demands that people pray without ceasing, writes Trust Khosa.

The lanky crooner and guitarist, who is husband to Selmor Mtukudzi and son to Zex Manatsa, opened up on a new single titled Corona Ngaipere which has an accompanying video.

The song is an adaptation from all-time classic Musango Mune Hangaiwa originally penned by his father, Zex.

In an interview with H-Metro, Tendai said he has been working on the song during the lockdown.

“I composed this song during lockdown since I was mostly home whiling up time.

“I realised that the Covid-19 pandemic needed a collective effort to create awareness so I penned this song.

“It is a prayer to God to come and intervene since most people are dying due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Covid-19 has been claiming our fellow citizens including both the high profile people and the lower class. “It’s a pandemic where we need to play our part and ensure that we save lives,” he said.

With most of his peers grounded on lockdown, Tendai said he has discovered his hidden talent.

“I have realised that I am a good farmer and I will soon approach the President and even beg him for a farm because I have a passion for farming,” he said.

Tendai and his wife Selmor are some of the high profile artistes who have also been affected by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Last year, they managed to hold a number of virtual performances along with other artistes although they were used to live audiences as big crowd-pullers.

Tendai’s wife served at Impala Car Rental ambassador for a year where she did wonders after the late Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi’s death.

The inseparable couple have continued to win hearts of many both off and on the stage.

Both Selmor and Tendai have been engaging their fans on various social media platforms urging them to take heed of the Covid-19 precautions.

It appears they continue winning hearts of many through their influence and Tendai has upped their campaign with the release of the single Corona Ngaipere.
