A Zimbabwean based in South Africa has released a Reggae Conscious riddim titled Covid Survivors.
The brains behind the riddim is Siyabu Shushuna Amin, who grew up in Highfield who has gone to create his own AfricaInfinity Music label.
The official launch for the riddim is on December 1.
The riddim consists of 10 local artists who include Raider Boss, Lady CeeJay, Ashy G, Tapencey and talented vocalist Sekuru Gudo among others who are all based in South Africa.
“The main reason for this Riddim is to thank the Almight for surviving the pandemic and also the frontline medical staff that went all out to save lives.
“It is named Covid Survivors due to the fact that during the pandemic many people lost their lives and so many people lost their jobs because many companies closed down.
“Travelling was limited especially to people living in foreign lands but we survived therefore we have to celebrate it through music,” Shushuna said.
He said the riddim would be released in Harare.
“What are we going to say to our loved ones when we meet? We are going to say we survived the pandemic,” he told H-Metro.
