THE sponsorship increase in the Rainbow Amateur Netball League (RANL) seems to have triggered most clubs to beef-up their teams ahead of the 2020 season.

Glow Petroleum established themselves as a progressive brand supporting the girl child by pouring a whopping $ 11 million ($US500 000) into RANL ahead of the forthcoming season.

The development has seen most clubs active during this transfer window running around strengthening their clubs. Last year’s runners-up Platinum Queens underlined their intention to challenge for honours after retaining all their senior players.

In fact the Zvishavane based even added highly rated duo of Elizabeth Mushore and Maxine Muvembi to their ranks after promoting them from their junior team, Platinum Angels.

The Zvishavane based side are reportedly to be closing in on national team captain Felisitus Kwangwa in what could be the biggest signing of this transfer window so far.

“We heard she (Kwangwa) will be joining us next season. We trained with her on Saturday so it might be true that she is coming. We are so excited because she brings vast experience to the team,” said an official from the team.

ZDF Queens, who finished third behind winners Correctional Queens and Platinum Queens are also quietly going about their business and closing in on Falcon Queens’ player Shalom Ncube.

Ncube had an outstanding 2019 season at the Air force side and if she moves to ZDF, it will be a huge boost for the Defence Forces side who are also trying to build a strong team.

Beta Queens have fend off competition from their rivals by retaining their best player Irene Mugabe who was linked to several clubs that includes Ngezi, Platinum Queens, Glow Petroleum and ZDF.

“She signed with Beta so there is no way she will be going to those clubs,” a source close to the player revealed.

Ngezi Platinum Queens player, Christine Kadandara has also been linked with a move to her former club Glow Petroleum.

Flow Angels are reportedly to have acquired the services of former black Rhinos players Jane Tshuma and Carol Dzinesi.
