WHO is the greatest Miss Zimbabwe of all-time?
It’s a tough one given the quality of the beauties who have captured the crown, the likes of Angeline Musasiwa, Brita Masalethuni and Malaika Mushandu, to name but a few.
Musasiwa, for instance, went on to represent the country at the Miss World and finished in the top four.
Angie, who was then a University of Zimbabwe student, finished fourth in a contest when by Indian Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Bachaan.
Brita was crowned Miss Zimbabwe in 1999 and went on to win Miss Malaika in 2001.
A leading online entertainment platform, earground, yesterday compiled the faces of the Miss Zimbabwe winners from 1980 and asked fans to choose who was their all-time favourite.
The feedback showed that the fans still have rich memories of the time when these beauty queens ruled the roost.

They are all so beautiful in different ways. I don’t have a favourite but I am interested to note that the producer of the award-winning movie, ‘Mirage,’ was once a Miss Zimbabwe. My favourite will always be Angeline Musasiwa 1994. I think she came fourth in the top 10. It was epic, especially when they played Leornard Dembo’s song Chitekete. She will forever be the greatest Miss Zim. – Kerita Tawana Choga.

When Brita won Miss Malaika, I remember watching the finale husiku. Apa paipinda contestants she was the last kupinda. When results were announced it was a shock. There was this South African who came second. Haibo I enjoyed that one. – Carol Mudzamiri.

Angeline, Dionne and Lorraine Maphala-Phiri were my favourites not forgetting Brita. Thank you earground. Watching Miss Zim was always a family event at home and we literally sat there together and critiqued or rooted for the girl.. I am loving the milestones Lorraine has had, lost the beauty pageant.
