A Chinhoyi University of Technology final year student has urged Zimbabweans to unite through her colourful exhibitions.

Lilian Dick who is studying towards a Bachelor Science Honours degree in Creative Art and Design, recently held a solo art exhibition at Christ College Skyline Campus.

The exhibition ran under the theme, “Jungle of Designs”.

The student, Lilian Dick said she was able to come up with a collection of skills during her four year course and turn those ideas into finished art and designs.

“I applied techniques that best accommodated the inspiration thus unleashing the artist within.

“The exhibition comprised of drawings, paintings, autocad designs, solid works d designs, 3d designs and environmental designs,” said Lillian.

She added:

“The portrait under the name ‘Unite for a better Zimbabwe’ carries a significant message to the government and all the political parties in Zimbabwe.

“The message was for them to unite and form one government if they want the situation in Zimbabwe to be normal again.”

Lilian said artists are not good talkers, so this provoking art piece is the one which will send message to all the political parties in Zimbabwe.

Guest of honour lecturer Dr Chivhanga hailed the exhibition.

“I am pleased to see that the student has managed to use all the skills she acquired at CUT.

“The student has fulfilled what designers do as her artworks were created using discarded materials thus giving life to seemingly useless materials,” he said.
