AWARD-WINNING dance group, Sesfikile Boys, has secured a place to compete in the Africa Dance Competition slated for South Africa from June 23 to July 16.
The quintet came first during the National Dance Association of Zimbabwe competition, which earned them a tour of Mzansi.
In an interview, group member Arthur Matizira said hard work seems to be paying off.
“I think being invited for the regional competition which is set to be screened live on DSTV channel (Zeeworld channel) happened for a few reasons.
“We have been really working hard and the right attitude helped us to attract great people to work with in the industry for example Leonard Zhakata, Baba Harare and Jah Master.
“Attitude has been fundamental as it plays a vital role in us being invited to perform in South Africa,” he said.
Similar sentiments were echoed by another dancer Kudakwashe Makoni who said:
“It’s unbelievable that we have been invited to perform in South Africa and the whole world will be watching us on DSTV, surely hard work pays.”
Not to be outdone was Rafick Madeira who said they were not out to add numbers at the completion.
“We had wished for it, hoped for it ,dreamt for it and by all means, we worked tremendously to be invited to compete in the Dance Africa Dance competition,” he said.
