DARING thieves broke into an Air Force of Zimbabwe bar on Saturday and went away with bottles of Viceroy brandy and cash.
The thieves broke into KDC Mess at Manyame Airbase.
They stole seven 750ml Viceroy brandy bottles, eight bottles of Zambezi quarts, seven 200ml Star Brandy bottles and cash amounting to U$270.
Bar attendant, Wendy Tabvirwa (29) learnt about the theft when she opened the following morning.
She locked the bar at around 10pm the previous night and the total value of the beer stolen was US$363.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case saying another case of unlawful entry and theft of alcohol was also reported in Borrowdale.
“Police are investigating two cases of unlawful entry and theft of alcohol and cash in Borrowdale, along Doveton Avenue, and at Manyame Airbase Mess,” said Insp Chakanza.
“In Borrowdale, the thief entered into the lounge, via an open lounge screen door, and stole four bottles of whiskey, two bottles of Tequila, a hot plate warmer, gate camera, four bottles of Jameson and a Macbook pro laptop and went away unnoticed.
“The total value stolen is US$10 500.”
