AS we reported earlier this year that the ‘bromance’ between Davido and rapper King 98 is unbreakable, the two will today share the stage together at the Eko Energy City in Lagos.
According to reports from Nigeria, today’s show being headlined by the Skelewu singer is no doubt the biggest gig as they shut down 2019 in style.
And the good news for Zimbabwe is that Zim Hip Hop game changer King 98 who has been closely working with Davido will also share the stage with his mentor.
The 21-year-old, who is already in Nigeria, said he was humbled by the faith Davido has shown him and was willing to return the favour.
Speaking through his manager and most trusted lieutenant – DJ Simmz – King 98’s camp promised to represent Zimbabwe with majesty.
DJ Simmz also said invitation was a good sign that the two had something in common – love for music.
“’Davido said they have built their relationship with King, it’s not all about money but for the love and how genuine he will.
“So Davido promised King that by the time he retires from the music industry, he will be counting King among the people helped in Africa,” he said.
DJ Simmz said it was also pleasing that Davido was genuinely helping King 98.
“’To be honest we never thought the relationship would grow to this stage after the two recorded the song – No Bad Vibes – together.
“He even congratulated King 98 for the good work he is doing and the progress he is making,” he added.
King 98, who has shared the stage with Davido before, is expected to keep the momentum.
His camp believes King 98 is destined for stars as he is penetrating Africa at a time when many doubting Thomases believes it was only media hype.
It was also in Nigeria where he did a collabo with Davido’s mentee, Zlatan.
As it stands, Nigeria has almost become his second home as fans have embraced him.
The show has also come at a time when King 98 had performed at sold out gigs in Mozambique, Zambia and South Africa.
Across the Limpopo, he held a series of sold out gigs with Nasty C under the Ivyson Tour banner.
During the tour, King 98 shared the stage with Nasty C in all provinces in South Africa.
The last leg of the tour was held at Pabloz Car Park on December 21.
