DELTA Corporation employees handed over groceries and clothing items worth over US$1 000 to SOS Children’s Home in Bindura.

The proceeds were part of what was realised at their annual Christmas charity event.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Delta Corporation general manager, corporate affairs, Patricia Murambinda, said:

“The donation will assist the home in taking care of its community members who are children who lost parental care and guardians.

“Each year, hundreds of children and teens leave their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.

“This is a fulfilment of our burning desire to support the communities we operate in,” said Murambinda.

She said the donation is set to benefit more than 100 children, who are below the age of 18, and are being taken care of at the home.

SOS Children’s Village is a member of SOS’ Villages International, which is one of the largest private welfare organisation for children in the world.
