SOLDIERS have been urged to desist from irresponsible sexual behaviours, drug abuse and any other social ills that tarnish the image of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA).
Addressing graduands during a graduation ceremony of troop commanders at 1 Air Defence Artillery Regiment, in Redcliff, Kwekwe, Colonel Ben jamine Sabata urged soldiers to desist from all forms of social ills that tarnish the image of the force.
“The ZNA continues to upholds zero tolerance to any forms of indiscipline hence it promptly and decisively deals with any form of misbehavior which tarnishes its image and reputation.
“I urge you to desist from disgraceful social habits like consumption or abuse of drugs, irresponsible sexual behaviour among other social ills,” said Sabata.
Meanwhile, Sabata has assured the soldiers of new accommodation arrangements in order to deal with accommodation crisis at the regiment.
“I am aware that your training was not spared from logistical challenges and resource constraints that affect our organization.
“Accommodation within the Regiment is an eye sore to start with. Let me commend the Commandant and his staff for employing initiatives that made your training a success despite the challenges faced.
“The organization is striving against all odds to continue training and developing its manpower,” said Sabata.
A total of 53 students graduated in three courses that is Troop commanders, Crew commanders and Surface to Air Missiles course.
