DJ Fantan and DJ Levels will perform at the main National Youth Day celebrations at Mushagashe Vocational Training Centre in Masvingo tomorrow.
The day will be celebrated under the theme “Positioning, Youth Empowerment and Development towards achieving Vision 2030”.
Last year’s national event was held in Lupane.
More than 30 000 young people from across Zimbabwe’s 10 provinces are expected to attend tomorrow’s event.
The Government will also reward young people who excel in various sectors during the event.
Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, Tino Machakaire, said the day provides young people with opportunities for ownership.
“The 21st is a very important day for us as young people of Zimbabwe.
“Last year, we celebrated our National Youth Day outside Harare.
“Having the main celebrations of the day in different provinces will enable youth and Government to engage in community specific exchange programmes, provide young people with opportunities for ownership, accountability, responsibility and sustainability for initiatives, while leaving no one and no place behind.
“The day has been identified as an opportune event that the Government should invest in to celebrate with the young people, taking stock of programmes and initiatives to inculcate the values that our fore-bearers displayed.”
He added: “The national event will maintain the principles of effective youth participation and all-inclusive participation of young people and again, leaving no one and no place behind,” he said.
“Youth in enterprise universities, colleges, local authorities, businesses, civic organisations and development partners will exhibit their programmes, activities and opportunities for our youth.
“All in all, let me say the celebrations are crucial as they identify and unlock the socio-economic potential of youth through building the capacity of our young people.
“They also increase awareness, commitment and investment in youth and development initiatives, programmes and projects.”
