Radio disc jockey Tatenda “Dj Yayos” Makwarimba has pledged to support and honour women for their role in society.
The 26-year old wheel-spinner, said he is determined to make sure women’s voices are heard.
“I am always behind women since we live in this patriarchal society where men are regarded as the most powerful.
“This month of March is meant to celebrate women and their roles in society, I am preaching that women need respect and honour.
“I donated 200 sanitary pads in my home area Kuwadzana as a way to celebrate women.
“I was born in Kuwadzana and I donated to girls as part of my efforts to give back to the community,” he said.
DJ Yayos started his career in 2011 and turned professional in 2015.
“I am guest Dj at Star FM, ZiFm and I play all types of genres.
“I have also played as a main DJ for Fally Pupa concert, Jah Prayzah at 30 in 2017 while at Alexandra Sports Club and also as a main DJ at Winky D Njema album launch,” he added.
The DJ has also played for Zim diasporans welcome back party in Lake Kariba for a week.
“I am now focusing on corporates and private events.
“I also ply my trade in South Africa where I host private parties in Yatchies and one of my famous private Yatch party lasted for 5 days in the Atlantic Ocean.”
The music selector sound is also a sound engineer and he is set to headline the Afro-Dubai concert set for Dubai in October this year.
