NEWLY-CROWNED Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) beauty queen, Delight Ruvimbo Usayi, says winning the pageant was a dream come true.

Usayi was crowned Miss CUT at a glittering ceremony at Jongwe Corner in Chinhoyi over the weekend.

The 21-year-old said she worked tirelessly for months to prepare for the pageant.

“The hard work and dedication have paid off. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting to win. The competition was fierce and I knew that any of the contestants could have taken home the crown.

“I was determined to give it my best shot and I guess that determination shone through. While I have never modelled professionally, I have always been fascinated by the world of pageantry,” she said.

Usayi gave credit to Herentals Group of Colleges.

“My interest in modelling dates back to the time when I was doing high school in Mabvuku.

“These experiences fuelled my passion and strengthened my courage.

“I saw the Miss CUT pageant as an opportunity to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone

“I knew that if I put in the hard work, and dedication, I could make a name for myself in the modeling world, and I was determined to prove it. I am so glad this victory has confirmed that I have what it takes to succeed.”

Usayi is an engineering student pursuing a degree in Industrial Electronics.

Usayi said her social life reflects her personality.
