FIFTEEN finalists will battle to grab the $3000 prize money at the 2018 Dreamstar grand finale set for tomorrow at the Harare International Conference.
The 15 acts who have been in camp for the past two weeks were getting mentorship on how best to develop their skills and personal growth.
In a statement, Dreamstar camp confirmed their readiness for the finale.
“As Dreamstar we are ready for the finals and we are pleased that the acts who were in camp received training in personal grooming, HIV/AIDS, self-awareness, goal setting and personal development beyond the entertainment industry.”
Added the organisers:
“The show will be celebrating a five-year journey which was initiated in 2014 and we are expecting the show to feature past winners, beatboxing duo Probetz (Denzel Mashonganyika) and Union5 (Tafara Dondo) 2015 and 2016 winners, Nyasha David (2015 second runner-up), and many others.
“A lot of Chinese themed-entertainment for the whole family will also be part of the entertainment.”
Dreamstar 2018, winners will be competing for first prize money of $3000, second prize $1500 and the third winner will walk away $750 richer.
“The winners will also have a chance to have a two-week tour of China, academic scholarships to China, recording deals at JCMC Studios, and employment opportunities both locally and abroad,” read the statement.
However, Cindy Munyavi, Sandra Ndebele, Nikki in the Stars and Ketan Nagar will be part of the panel of judges.
This year’s finals were made bigger and better with the contribution of The China Africa Economic and Culture Exchange Research Centre, The Embassy of China to Zimbabwe, Chibuku Delta-Beverages and Emirates Airlines.
