TWO Harare men recently appeared in court facing three counts of rape, kidnap and theft.
Albert Masango, 21, and Robert Chibhagidhi, 34, pleaded not guilty when they appeared before Harare Magistrate Learnmore Mapiye.
Magistrate Mapiye remanded Masango and Chibhagidhi in custody to August 28.
Circumstances that led to the arrest of the duo are that July 28 Masango and Chibhagidhi gave transport to a female complainant aged 34 from Mverechena Shops in Domboshava to Mashroad.
When they arrived at Mashrod, Masango and Chibhagidhi blocked the complainant from disembarking and drove to Hatcliff claiming they were looking for fuel.
On arriving at some place in Consortium it is alleged that the duo moved to the back seat where the complainant was seated and pulled a knife and told the complainant to remove her clothes.
The State alleges that Masango and Chibhagidhi took turns raping the complainant several times until the complainant told the duo that she was tired and she wanted rest.
Prosecutor Maromo alleges that after the duo had satisfied themselves they told the complainant to sleep in the car until the following day after stealing RTGS 200 from her.
The complainant reported the matter on July 29 after informing her friends of the incident.
