ZIMBABWE soccer giants Dynamos are set to give their long-serving player vice-captain Emmanuel Jalai a token of appreciation for his 100th DeMbare cap in the goalless draw against Simba Bhora at Barbourfields on Sunday.

Jalai was brought to DeMbare in 2019 by Lloyd ‘’Mablanyo” Chigove, who is the current assistant to Genesis Mangombe.

Dynamos vice chairman Vincent Chawonza said the club is going to give him a token of appreciation to inspire others to emulate him.

“He is a dedicated player and has shown resilience and courage within the team through the years. The fact that he was appointed as the vice-captain of the team is a revelation that he had shown his leadership qualities.

“He is the epitome of excellence in the team as he is a well-humbled and disciplined cadre and also he leads by example as you know our footballers always make headlines for the wrong reasons time and time again but he is a guy who is rarely found on the wrong side.

‘’So as a club, we are going to give him a token of appreciation as our own way of saying thank you and we hope it will inspire others to replicate him,” he said

Jalai was once registered as a CAPS United player, under the juniors’ slot, for six months but he did not kick a ball in 2018. This resulted in him crossing the divide a year later and he is slowly emerging as a legend for the club.
