MORE than 200 children living with disabilities at Jairos Jiri Association Centre in Southerton last Thursday had smiles on their faces when a Christmas party was held for them.
Bon Vie Medical aid, Zimbuko Capital and Black Shark Security Company hosted the Christmas party and promised to give them more food and make sure their environment is kept tidy.
Black Shark Security Company business director, said their institution saw it noble to plough back into the community by donating to the needy.
“Giving is part of corporate social responsibility and as a company we decided to give to Jairos Jiri where there are children facing challenges day in day out,” said Jakachira.
“We have plans to adopt this home and continue donating and helping out these children.
“We are not only focusing on this home only but thriving to help other children’s homes around Zimbabwe,” he said.
Jairos Jiri Association Centre manager Sheila Chiwaridzo hailed the three organisations for remembering their plight in time where many expect to dress and feed their own children.
“As Jairos Jiri we are happy with what these companies did, they gave not only food and drinks but left these children smiling,” said Chiwaridzo.
“It shows that there are people with love who care for us out there.
“The children are happy with the early Christmas party and we hope these companies will cast their eyes wider for other organizations like ours.”
Chiwaridzo highlighted challenges they are facing daily due to shortage of equipment like wheel chairs and artificial legs.
