EDITORIAL : Mudiwa doing the right things

BUSINESSMAN Mudiwa Hood has really come a long way and has now established himself on the unforgiving landscape of business.

He is the founder and CEO of Disrupt Media, founder and CEO of Bisep Security, founder and CEO of Optima Construction, founder and CEO of SkyStar, founder and MD of the Billionaire Academy and co-founder of Fundmass.com.

He also owns the Mudiwa Hood Luxury Boutique, which is a high-end clothing store that provides top-of-the-range clothing for men and women.

The boutique offers a variety of clothing options, including suits, dresses, shoes, accessories, and more, all carefully selected to meet the demands of clients who value quality, style, and exclusivity.

Mudiwa is also a Christian music rapper and philanthropist and has now started an initiative to play a leading role in partnering ambitious young Zimbabweans who want to make it in business.

Recently, he partnered with a graduate biochemist to help grow her medicinal soap making business and declared that this was just the start of his grand initiative.

The young woman recently graduated with a biochemistry degree from the University of Zimbabwe.

She was among those interviewed for a receptionist job at Mudiwa’s office and she impressed him with her business ideas.

Rather than employ her as a receptionist, Mudiwa decided to offer to sponsor her and help grow her company.

The firm specialises in anti-fungal herbal soap.

“Among my interviewees was a recently graduated biochemist who wanted a receptionist job. Of course, I did not give her the receptionist job, I asked to partner her and sponsor her.

“She makes medicinal soaps, specialising in anti-fungal herbal soap. It cures any infection to do with fungi, so it can cure skin problems and so I am going to sponsor and grow this business,” he said.

Ahead of the interviews, Mudiwa extended an invitation to young company owners who joined him on the interviewing panel.

Among them were award winning business founders and CEOs, Dr Henry Dandadzi of Interpath Laboratories, Realty Microfinance and Interpath Construction, Tatenda Samkange of Skylake Boreholes and Crystal Fencing, and Tinashe Mupingo of Platinum Island Energy.

What was significant about this was that those who were interviewed were able to see the faces, and hear the voices, of young men and women who have made it big in their lines of business.

These are all role models who have shown, at a very young age, that they can reach for the stars and succeed in the cut-throat world of business.

They are living models whose stories show that nothing is impossible, in this country and in this world, once one commits to pursuing a certain line and they give it all that they have.

The business people who were on the front row showed that the only path to success is not about getting a job but even pursuing a certain business line and devoting everything to make it work.

Mudiwa is doing the right thing and we hope he gets all the support.
