ZIMBABWE’S music ambassadors, Mokoomba, are in the final leg of their Tusona Tour and have been rocking their fans in Germany.
It has been a hugely successful European tour for the group whose fan base appears to be growing.
Unlike other local groups, who play before predominantly Zimbabwean fans when they tour Europe, Mokoomba have found a way to woo European fans.
And, they have been receiving some rave reviews.
“Mokoomba’s Afrobeat and Zamrock captivate audiences with their driving rhythms, electrifying beats and unique harmonies,” one of the Germany clubs, which hosted them, said.
“When the six musicians from Zimbabwe take the stage and send the audience into ecstasy, the earth shakes.
“At their concerts, Mokoomba leave no visitor standing still, but inspires with the raw energy of African rhythms, the unique singing of frontman Mathias Muzaza and the concentrated power of melodic and exotic harmonies.
“The band takes its audience into other worlds and tells stories of Africa and Zimbabwe and its rituals.”
Mokoomba played in the German capital Berlin on Monday, took a rest on Tuesday, and entertained their fans in Freiburg last night.
They will remain in Germany and play in Karlsruhe tomorrow before flying to Switzerland for shows in Basel and Zurich this weekend.
