FASHION FLUX, a local modelling agency,  is preparing to host a fashion show on October 28 in Harare.

The event, which takes place at Akeelah Frolic Gardens in Hillside, seeks to promote a sartorial splendour of different cultures, ethnicities and traditions in Zimbabwe.

Founder of the agency, Tinashe Nyatsande, said he found out that young people in Zimbabwe, particularly in the urban areas, have forgotten about their culture and heritage.

He said the show aims to put the Zimbabwean fashion show on the international scene and inspire world trends.

“Together with other organisers, we aim to bring back our tradition and culture through fashion and modelling.

“Designers from different backgrounds have been selected to showcase their talent, ensuring a diverse representation of styles, techniques and inspirations.

“We hope that in recognising our culture, traditions, ethnicities and languages we elevate Zimbabwean designers to the international market,” said Tawanda.

The runway will come to life with categories such as street wear, Ankara wear, vintage wear and formal wear.

He said:

“Traditional music, dance and art will intertwine with the runway presentation offering a holistic experience that transcends fashion alone.

“Spectators can expect an immersive journey through Zimbabwe’s rich tapestry of traditions leaving them with a deeper appreciation of the industry.”
