A Chinhoyi man has dragged his father to court accusing him of insulting him over beasts.
Tichaona Mlambo opened up at Harare Civil Court where he was applying for a protection order against his father Charles Mlambo.
“He is my father but he insults me over my beasts that he claims they belong to the family.
“I want the court to bar him from visiting my place because he came and stole my stock card when I was not around.
“He insults and assaults me in front of my bosses calling me a thief yet I am the one who bought all 45 beasts,” said Tichaona.
Tichaona also told the court that his father insults his children and destroys his property in his absence.
“I don’t know why my father keeps doing all this drama. I have clearance forms that show the beasts belongs to me.
“He wants me to share the beasts with him and other siblings so he keeps insulting me,” said Tichaona.
In his response, Charles denied the allegations.
“I went once to his house telling him that we should share the beasts.
“I never insulted or assaulted him; he is the one who insulted me over the family beasts.
“There is no reason for us to fight. I just want my own share,” said Charles.
Presiding Magistrate Tafadzwa Miti granted protection order in favour of Tichaona.
Charles was ordered not to visit Tichaona’s workplace and to approach a court in Chinhoyi to settle the beasts matter.
