Feli Nandi continues to shine

FELI Nandi’s star continues to shine.

She is expected to take centre stage again on Saturday during the Chibuku Road To Fame national finals after-party.

She will share the stage with sungura ace, Alick Macheso and Tocky Vibes at Takashinga Cricket Club.

Sponsors, Delta Corporation, have also included the services of the hugely popular Chillspot Family, led by its trio of DJ Fantan, Levels and Ribhe.

For the first time, the competition introduced Zimdancehall and Hip hop genres.

Ten groups, drawn from the country’s 10 provinces, will battle for the ultimate US$15 000 prize.

The first runner up will get US$10 000 and the  second runner-up US$7 000.

Delta Corporation marketing director, Irimayi Muzorewa, said they are fired up for the final.

“We witnessed a good turnout and entry of diverse genres from the competing artists.

“Preparations to host the finals this Saturday at Takashinga Cricket Club, Highfield, are at an advanced stage.

“We have exciting activities lined up and we have included several guest artists including Alick Macheso, Feli Nandi, Tocky Vibes, Pumacol, Bazooker Jah Master, and Ndunge Yut,” said Muzorewa.

Last year’s winners Grade 2D, who recently launched their debut album, are also set to perform on the day.

Groups that have made it to the finals include Midlands’ Afro Jazz ensemble 911, Hi-Five (Mash-Central), Deze raWasu (Manicaland), Kweseka (Mat-North), Gutu Stars (Masvingo), Mazwi (Harare) and Ziyaduma Express (Mat-South).

The annual talent search programme, which promises to be an explosive affair, ran from September 9 to October 14 under the theme “Imba Tinzwe, Cula Sizwe Superstar!”.

Entrance will be free of charge with performances set to start at 10am.

Meanwhile, Feli Nandi filled the VIP Lounge at Rainbow Towers on Friday night.

Dubbed “A Night with Feli Nandi”, the songbird was irresistible on the night.

During her performance, Feli Nandi teamed up with KayCPricish, Tahfah, Soulful Leah, Sam Koroni, and Calvin Mangena, alongside The Unveiled.

She started her music career as a backing vocalist for Ashton “Mbeu” Nyahora’s Mhodzi Tribe Band before going solo.

Feli Nandi is also a fashion designer and has established herself as a powerful brand on the domestic music scene.

In 2021, she released her debut album called Feli Nandi.

The album carries the song, Unotyei, where she talks about the loss of her mother, who made a huge impact in her musical career.

She is now preparing for her new album launch, whose finer details have not been released yet.
