The trial of former Harare mayor, Hebert Gomba, got underway yesterday at the High Court.
Gomba is facing criminal abuse of office charges.
He is being charged together with suspended Town Clerk Hosea Chisango, finance director Stanley Ndemera, and Charles Kandemiri.
The four appeared before Justice Pisirayi Kwenda in the Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court, after they were inducted from the lower court.
Gomba, Ndemera and Kandemiri have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Yesterday, they tendered their defence to the court and are all anticipating that the charges will be dropped.
The matter is still pending.
