ZIM dancehall star, Freeman, says his 12th album, David & Goliath, tackles issues affecting young people.

These issues range from drug abuse, unemployment and depression.

In a post, ahead of the launch of his album on Saturday at Alex Sports Club, the HKD boss said the songs will also speak to communities, families and stakeholders.

“Through this album, I pray that we challenge ourselves to do better in fighting the various problems which we face.

“May it be a moment that allows communities, families and stakeholders to sit down and tackle the challenges being faced by young adults who are addicted, depressed and on the verge of committing suicide,” he said.

He said the album was a tool that will allow him to communicate through music.

“This is not just an album but a conversation for us all.

“The best way I can fight my own battles is through words and beats.

“May my victories and battles inspire you to fight yours.

“Therefore, as they all say, ‘let the music speak’, the album will be launched on 8 October,” he said.

The album will be launched at a glitzy event at Alexandra Sports Club, which is now very popular with promoters and artists in the music industry.

Jamaican entertainer, Chris Martin, will be the special guest at the show.

He is expected in Harare tomorrow.
