THE French Ligue 1 duo of Marshall Munetsi and Tino Kadewere’s hopes of coming for crucial back-to- back 2022 Afcon qualifiers against Botswana and Zambia hang in the balance.

As of yesterday afternoon, their chances of making it to Botswana were next to zero, but there was hope for the Zambia game.

The pair is supposed to use a private plane according to the French ministry’s travel regulations.

ZIFA communications manager Xolisani Gwetsela said the Government was working with the Mozambican government on a possible arrangement.

Mozambique are bringing one of their players, who plays for Lille and Zifa are hoping to have Kadewere and Munetsi on the
charter flight.

“We have engaged the Mozambican FA to ask if our players can use their charter.

“They told us to engage their government and we have done so through the SRC, who further wrote to the Ministry. The Ministry has since written to their Mozambican counterparts and we will wait to hear from them on the way forward.

Even if they’re to miss the game against Botswana we will continue with our efforts so that they can make it for the Zambia game,” he said.
