FC Platinum utility player Ralph Kawondera believes his first goal in the CAF Champions League is a confidence booster going forward.
The miners were off to a positive start after winning 2-1 against Mozambique champions Costa do Sol with Kawondera and Ellias Maguri on target.
“It feels good to score with the team getting a positive result.
“It was my first time playing in the champions league and I managed to score, it means a lot to me because it boosts my confidence.”
Kawondera said they did well considering they have been inactive for a long time,
“We had a great time as a team, the atmosphere was not bad since it was our first time to play a competitive match after a long period. I think we all did our best to grind a result away from home.
“Despite the positive result I think there is still a room for improvement considering the way we played but generally I had a good game. I’m happy that the switching of coaches did not affect any of us in any way.
“Going forward we are taking each game as it comes and our target so far is to reach the group stage then wait and see what will be in store for us. We are looking forward to continue working together as a team and to implement the coach’s game plan. ” he said.
