GOSPEL musician Tichaona Tasara says his music has changed the perception of his home area Gokwe.
The 37-year-old fronts the Powers of Angels group.
“I grew up in Gokwe, a place many people speak negative things about.
“My music speaks volumes about how God can change lives and I am a testimony of His grace.
“People are appreciating my music and we are intensifying in correcting the narrative of negatives from my home area.
“We are preaching the living God and I want to thank God for helping me to meet good people from the International Apostolic Faith Church.
“They helped me to sing and, in 2008, we released an album with a band called Glory Singers, which was made of the youths from the church.
“The album is called Chokumirira Hapana, and it was led by Edmore Zikimo.
“We made noise during that time but, unfortunately, the group crumbled and I started my own Powers of Angels.”
He released his first album in 2014 called Nguva Yokunamata.
“It was like something not serious but God made it possible and the album was well received, especially songs like Nguva Yokunamata, and Munhu Wese.
“I then released another album in 2015 which is called Kuramba Jesu.
“It did not receive much airplay and I did not lose hope and I released another one in 2016 called Ndakarangarirwa naJesu.
“The album was well received and my name became known. Songs like Rovedzerai Vana, Pfuma Yekuromba, made some noise,” he said..
In 2017 he did videos for the songs.
He said in 2021, he was called to be an apostle.
“I want to thank God who called me to minister His word in 2021.
“I then started a church called House of the Living Word of God. We are preaching the second coming of Jesus Christ.
“This year I released another album called Uchaendepiko Mweya Wangu.”
