A TEENAGE student, who was impregnated and dumped and is expecting to deliver twins next month, has received an assortment of baby wear.
It is expected the donation will cheer her spirits as she battles a number of challenges during these trying times for the 16-year-old student.
The donation came from Little Mr and Miss Africa Zimbabwe following a story published by H-Metro.
Led by their director, Shalom Ramunyenyiwa, the children donated baby wear to the teenager at her Kuwadzana home.
The student is expecting twins next month and has been struggling to get the baby wear she needs for her kids when they are delivered.
“We were touched by the story published in H-Metro about this Form 4 student.
“Our team saw it better to wipe off some of her tears by showing her some love.
“It remains a real matter of concern to see young girls’ rights being abused like this, to see them being hunted by evil men daily who are only there to destroy their lives.
“As an organisation, we want to urge everyone, in various communities around the country, to be our brothers and sisters keepers,” said Shalom.
The student was impregnated by Kudzai Masakadze, who was protected from possible arrest by the girl’s relatives after he promised to marry her.
He paid part of her Ordinary Level Examination fees, lived with her as his wife, abused her and later dumped her.
In an interview, Kudzai confirmed responsibility for the pregnancy and accused the parents of the student for their separation.
