BUDIRIRO based upcoming gospel artiste Richard Chamunorwa has collaborated with award-winning singer Obert Chari who grabbed rose to acclaim with his chart-topper Mebho.
After being charmed by the ZCC Hakireni leader’s exploits, Chamunorwa decided to engage his services on the title track of his latest album Makairasa.
Chamunorwa, 27, who fronts The Power of Choice Sounds, believes a collaboration with Chari would help his music to spread the word to a lot of people.
“I approached Chari for a collaboration since I admire his music and the way he does his work.
“There are very good chances that his help on this track will make my music reach too many people since he has a good fan base after doing so well with his track Mebho.
“It would help me to spread the word to different people including those who are more into secular music.
“Chari is a talented guy and it helped me to learn a lot of stuff from him as we collaborated on this track,” said Chamunorwa.
“We also grew up in the same area meaning that we understand each other very well, hence I saw it fit to collaborate with him on this song because we would relate to each other especially when it comes to the message of the song.
“He is the person I found suitable to collaborate on this song as he also inspires me and we share a common background of tough upbringing and the song Makairasa gives strength to those people who face challenges and overcome them,” he added.
Chamunorwa’s album recorded at Hillside Studios Zimbaica and produced by Chief Robinson carries seven tracks such as Pfugama, Tichabva zvedu, Muupenyu, Zvanga zvakaoma, Ine Nhamo, Neropa Rajesu and the title track Makairasa.
Makairasa is his second after Ndine Mubvunzo released last year.
Chamunorwa got into singing in 2009 in church as he was the leader of ZCC choir.
