GOSPEL diva, philanthropist and academic, Daisy Mukariri, believes in sharing.

The praise and worship star, who runs Bright Daisies Group of Schools in Chitungwiza, handed blankets to over 60 students who graduated in Early Childhood Development (ECD) last week.

The donation also came as an early Christmas present to the recipients.

In an interview, Daisy said the donation was inspired by her passion for children.

“This year’s donation was driven by my passion for children and love for those who work with us.

“The difference is that I managed to show our gratitude to our clients with physical tokens of appreciation like a blanket and an A3 portrait to each ECD graduand and a branded khakhi shirt to all the fathers.

“It is better to build people than to build mansions.

“It is better to invest in education as it is a source of empowerment, an empowered child can impact lives,” she said.

Daisy said she received support from award-winning gospel outfit, Vabati vaJehovah.

“I have found favour amongst other renowned artists as witnessed by the support I got from Vabati vaJehova who graced our ECD graduation.

“We have had a number of artists supporting our events, for example Jonah Chivasa, Obert Chari, Dorcas Moyo, Bethany Pasinawako Ngolomi who graced our family show.

“We have had eight editions so far and we have seen a total of 350 graduands passing through our hands.”

The seasoned songbird made history in July when she attracted a bumper crowd at the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex during the launch of her ninth album titled Celebrity.

Members of her church and school-going children also graced the event.

Fellow artists – Obert Chari, Mark Ngwazi, Bethen, Dorcas Moyo and Bright Chisango graced the occasion.

A seasoned artist, who has been recording consistently, boasts of a rich catalogue of songs and albums.

They include Taparara Nejoy released in 2010, Mwari Anoona (2011), Chikoman Delete (2012), Vhangeri Nengoma (2014), Sungai Maronda (2015), Rereka Nzeve (2018), Bhibheri (2019) and MaLevels released last year.

Besides music and school administration, she is also an ordained church pastor running a big ministry.
