ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa has pleaded with Government to put their helping hand when it comes to national team assignments.
Addressing journalists at a press briefing held recently in the capital, Chiyangwa pointed out that it is time the government starts putting all national teams on their budgets.
“It’s sad that we as ZIFA are the ones responsible for everything regarding our warriors, and sometimes we are forced to take from our personal pockets to make sure our national team fulfil some of their assignments.
“It is my wish to see the government getting involved in our national team budgets, the team is not supposed to be ZIFA’s responsibility alone.
“In other countries, national teams are catered for by the government and that should also happen to us as well,” Chiyangwa said.
