University of Zimbabwe student and H-Metro reporter, Mangaliso Kabulika, scooped first runner-up in the print media at the 2023 National Young Champion Farmers Awards held in Harare on Friday.
The awards were hosted by the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, water and Rural Development under the theme: Food security, every day, everywhere, youth in agriculture moving towards Vision 2030.
Kabulika encouraged fellow students to work hard and avoid drug and substance abuse.
He expressed his gratitude for the achievement and said that hard work and dedication always pay off, and urged students to take this opportunity to shape their future for the better.
“It is a great achievement since I’m still a student on attachment. I was nominated among experienced journalists and I managed to scoop the award, which I did not expect.
“There is more to life than engaging in drugs and substance abuse. Take this opportunity to shape your future while you still can,” said Kabulika.
