HADEBE OPTIMISTIC OF SURVIVAL

WITH a single round of matches remaining before the curtain comes down on the Turkish Super League, Teenage Hadebe remains optimistic his club will survive relegation.

He plays for Konyaspor.

Boosted by his recent performance over the past weekend, in which he was named into the Turkish Super Lig Team of the Week, the Zimbabwe international says his focus is on helping his team survive relegation.

“It’s always good to get such kind of recognition on your performance and I am happy to have been named in the Team of the Week,” said Hadebe.

“At the moment I am concentrating on my game and helping the team survive relegation and I am hoping that I carry on with the form into our last match of the season.”

Konyaspor are in 15th place, with 41 points.

They will host heavyweights Galastaray in their last game on Sunday.

Interestingly the two teams will go into the fixture needing a point to achieve their goals.

A point for Konyaspor will be enough for the team to survive relegation while a point will be enough for Galastaray to be crowned the 2023-24 Turkish Super Lig champions.

“We would want to end or season on a high and for us to do so we need to, at least, get a point against Galastaray to survive.

“We are ready for Galastaray and we know it won’t be an easy game for us because they need a point also to win the championship,” said Hadebe.
