WARRIORS defender Teenage Hadebe is confident of getting a positive result in a World Cup qualifier away to Ghana tomorrow.

Zimbabwe play the same opponents at home next Tuesday as they seek to get their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign back on track.

The Dynamo Houston defender said he had missed playing for the Warriors and promised to do his best.

“It’s good to be back and playing for my country. I had missed this and I’m glad that I’m now able to. “Of course we are playing against a team with good players.

“I have seen Ghana qualifying several times for previous World Cups.

“And some might say Ghana are better than us or above us but we will play them with confidence and we are geared up for them,” he said.

Hadebe said they need to play as a team for them to get the desired result. The Warriors travelled to the West African country in batches and Hadebe had complications but finally managed to make the trip.

“I know that, going into this game, we have to be fully focused and be alert throughout the whole match. We shouldn’t lose concentration and play as a team.

“We have a good squad that can match all those standards, so yes we can do better against them.

“I have played a number of games for the national team, I can say that I’m one of the senior players now and I’ve now played in three different leagues. And I think I have improved a lot and getting more game time has helped me to grow as a player.

“My presence and rest of the other senior players will help out,” he said.

Hadebe, who missed the two previous encounters due to travel restrictions, said this is the time to show the true colours of the warriors.

“It’s a tough game indeed but we are warriors, we need to prove it and die for our nation, play for the badge and the flag. We need to make sure that we win because we want to go further in this competition.

“We have got a good squad with vast experience and we’ve been together for some time now, we know and understand each other.

“We have to play both games with a positive mind-set or winning mentality. I think we can do that because we have a good and experienced squad.

“I think we have a good squad. I have always said that I have full of confidence in my teammates and my coaches as well.”
