ZIMDANCEHALL chanter, Dumalisile ‘Dobba Don’ Mehlomakhulu, has provided the biggest hint that he has conquered his drugs demons, which had kept him out of the music scene.
He has dropped an EP, ‘Ngoma Yorira,’ in which he is narrating his journey.
The EP was produced by Farai ‘DJ Phabb’ Mangwende of Phabb Bad Company Muzik Records, who is helping him to make a huge comeback.
“As you know, Dobba was affected by drugs for a long time before he was taken to rehab. I am happy that he survived and this is his first EP in two years.
“He is on a recovery path.
“Dobba is also narrating his life and journey through the drugs.
“Dobba has been into drugs since 2018 and he ended up losing part of his sanity. He even started staying on the streets, he had an addiction and he lost his touch with music.
“He went off the music radar since he no longer had time to produce music for the past four years,” said Phab.
He added:
“He was taken for rehabilitation last year and when he recovered, I then approached him to start working on his music.
“I advised him to come up with an album with music that helps other victims of drugs as well as narrating his journey.
“We then came up with this album in January and released it in April.
“He was explaining his difficult moment with drugs and how he is recovering.”
Dobba Don wants to preach a good message.
“He no longer wants anything to do with drugs.
“He wants to sing about life-changing music.
“As you know Dobba is just like the late Soul Jah Love, he doesn’t write his music, it just comes.”
