Minister of Energy and Power Development Fortune Chasi has warned Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority employees that there will be reshuffling of workers to end monopoly within the organisation which is expected to deliver.
Minister Chasi who addressed the new ZESA board yesterday encouraged the board to have imminent transfers for all ZESA employees.
He said people wants electricity not excuses.
“We need a complete clean-up of ZESA and there will be reshuffle of employees.
“Some employees are now gods at their stations and that’s what we want to end.
“We are calling an end to monopoly and starting from a fresh page with the new board which is promising to deliver results.
“We do not accept monopoly,” he said.
“We want the board to conduct an audit and we will deal with situations without fear or favour.
“When we reshuffle people there will be no favouritism and corruption especially on procurement system.
Minister Chasi also said he expect to see good leadership from the new board.
He also conceded that they have let down famers this season but have promised to make it up to them soon
“We have let down the famers due to power cuts but we expect to make it up to them soon.
“It’s our wish to see everyone to benefit power and have access to ZESA.”
