The ministry of health and child care issued a statement apologising for the loss of lives and suffering during the doctors’ strike.
In a press statement, the ministry expressed gratitude to citizens who were patient enough and understood the situation.
“The Ministry of Health and Child Care would like to notify the public that the doctors who had embarked on strike from December 1 have now agreed to resume duties at their various stations. We would like to appreciate and acknowledge the patience shown by our citizens during this prolonged impasse.”
The ministry of health further explained that they will be working under pressure with immediate effect as they regret any inconvenience that was caused by the strike.
“We regret any suffering or loss of life that may have occurred during this period.”
The Minister of Health and Child care Obadiah Moyo explained that the government is in the process of reviving all vital requirements needed by hospitals and doctors for them to function properly without any obstacles that might lead to the fall of the health ministry.
“The government is in the process of procuring the essentials needed for the hospitals,” he said.
The government concluded that the challenges are huge but they will do their best to solve the issues affecting both doctors and patients.
