HOME is where the Heart is.
That is the message from those who are behind the construction of the Heart Stadium, which is set to be officially opened on December 10.
It will open with a 5 000 all-seater capacity with bucket seats around the two terraces.
However, there are plans by those behind the project that they could, depending on getting either a loan or grant, develop the southern and northern terraces and take the seating capacity to 25 000.
With a lot of focus on the stands and the pitch, the development of the modern air-conditioned dressing rooms, complete with a medical facility, have gone unnoticed.
“We have modern dressing rooms which can compete very well with those you see on TV in European games,” said one of those behind the project.
“We are talking about dressing rooms with the facilities where a player will have his jersey hung behind him or her, his name inscribed on where he or she will sit and things like that.
“They say home is where the heart is and, for us, it will be an honour to have this stadium further developed, together with our partners, to ensure that the Warriors will play their next home game here and not outside the country.”
