HARARE Basketball League defending champions City Hornets won 82-42 over Cheaters on Saturday at Richwood.
The result saw Hornets remaining top of the standings with eight points after four matches.
Speaking to H-Metro, team captain Simbarashe Mungombedzi said the team continues to roar in their quest of retaining the title.
“We play like there is no tomorrow, every team member is determined to maintain the stand which we set from the beginning of the league till the end,” said Mungombedzi.
Missing some of their key players including Tawanda Chitimbe, City Hornets still managed to clinch a win.
“I’m even surprised that even though other key star players were not present, the team still remained intact and composed till the last minute of the game.
“We promise more to showcase in our next match with confidence that our missing players will be back from the national team.
“We expected much from Cheaters, this time around they were not playing with the challenge we anticipated.”
