GEMMA Griffiths has revealed the emotional journey she went through while writing and recording her song Ndichatarisa.
The singer-songwriter admitted that she was in tears while recording the song, as it was the first time she had figured out how to talk about her emotions.
The song was informed by a number of unexpected things that happened in her life, which she used to process her emotions.
While recording the visuals, she said that the clouds opened up like God’s breath, and he made it clear that the song was ready to be released.
“It is really a special song to me as I was going through a lot. Probably this is the most wonderful I’ve ever been writing and recording because earlier this year a lot happened and it was painful and I remember actually shouting out ndichatarisa kwamuri over and over again.
“I was saying God, I can’t right now, I can’t see how I’m going to get through this and to do this.
“I was crying and yearning for it and it was so real and you know, I didn’t know when it was going to come out.
“While recording the visuals, the clouds opened and it was like God’s breath and he just made it and he said now and it was the most amazing thing,” said Gemma.
Griffiths is planning to end the year strong and start the next year with a new project.
“I’m going to finish the year strong and hopefully at the beginning of next year, I’ll finish a lot of stuff I’m working on tirelessly,” she said.
