MUSIC promoter, Partson “Chipaz” Chimbodza, says he enjoys taking risks for the good of the arts industry.
Chipaz, who hosted the “Zim Giants” show at Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex on Friday, believes real promoters should not be afraid of making big sacrifices.
His concert was headlined by Alick Macheso and Jah Prayzah.
“As an award-winning promoter, I enjoy taking such big risks like the one I did today (Friday).
“I have done it before and I won’t stop since it is my obligation as a promoter to make people happy.
“People’s happiness makes matters to us as promoters even though we believe in big numbers,” he said.
Chipaz, who has promoted artistes from all genres, reckons he has done a lot for the industry.
“If you look at the records, you will realise that I have artistes at heart.
“I have promoted artistes from various genres and even upcoming ones.
“I was there when the Zim dancehall movement started and I have left some footprints.
“As for this show, I just wanted to give people variety as well as promoting some of the most trending artistes in Zimbabwe.”
The promoter was humbled by the commitment shown by the artistes.
“The artistes on the line-up did their best in promoting this show. All the musicians who performed here took a leading role as they marked the show on their social media platforms,” he said.
