A HARARE man has approached the court demanding rentals from his tenant who stayed at his house for six days.
Ticharwa Masenda made the claims at Harare Civil Court against Janet Kanyani whom he accused of refusing to pay April rentals.
“I have nothing to do with number of days she stayed at my house, but I want full month payment.
“l gave her notice in February that by end of March she should move out and she refused.
“Whether she stayed full month or one week, I need full month payment,” he said.
He told the court that people had been coming asking for vacant rooms but he could not grant them a place because Kanyanyi was still occupying the room.
“A lot of people were looking for a room to rent but I told them there was no place since she was still in.
“l lost customers because of her and as a result l need my April rent,” he added.
“Your worship l stayed at their house for six days in April so l cannot pay for the whole month.
“l can only pay $28 for six days.
“That’s day light robbery he is doing, six days counting to 30 days,” said Kanyani.
Presiding magistrate Nyasha Marufu ordered Kanyani to pay $70.
