Jah Prayzah

MUSICIAN Jah Prayzah has assured his followers that he won’t disappoint them on October 13 when he launches his much-hyped album “Kutonga Kwaro” at HICC.

The 30-year-old says while all the hype regarding the event to be graced by Nigerian superstar Davido has been done, his production team has also put together a well-knit album.

“I’m pleased will all the hype regarding the album launch, especially the after party.

“Loyal fans have been calling us to revert to the old Jah Prayzah beat they know and we have just taken that into consideration.

“In this album, it’s a 50-50 situation where half of the songs would be on the old Jah Prayzah beat while 50 percent would be a fusion of my original beat with Afro beats of course,” said Jah Prayzah.

The 3rd Generation boss said he would not betray his fans even though he is now doing more working with international artistes.

“As an artiste with a huge fan base that have been loyal to me, I can’t afford to ignore them because they are the same people who made me what I am today.

“Like any other artiste, I feel there is need for growth and that’s why I have done some of these collaborations but I won’t betray my fans who have been there for me.

“I urge fans to show up in numbers at the album launch and fans will not be disappointed since I have done my best,” he added.

Entertainment galore

Meanwhile, show organisers – 2 Kings Entertainment – believe they have done all the ground to ensure the show lives to its billing.

While all the attention would be on Jah Prayzah and Davido, 2 Kings have roped in exceptional artistes as supporting acts at the show.

These include Andy Muridzo, DJ Iroq, Nutty O, and Diamond Boys among other surprise acts on the night.

“Of course Jah Prayzah and Davido are the main acts but we are also happy with the choice of supporting acts he proposed for us.

“We hope fans will also enjoy and we are now waiting for the big day of the album launch,” said Tariro Mapfumo of 2 Kings.

As preparations for album launch gather momentum, show coordinators say they are pleased with the sale of advance tickets.

“As we announced, advance tickets for the gig are being sold for US$20 for ordinary tickets, US$30 VIP, US$50 VVIP and US$100 for the golden circle.

“The tickets are being sold at Coloursel branches in Westgate, Newlands, Eastgate, Avondale, Farell Shop, Leopold Takawira, Robert Mugabe, JP offices and Star FM offices.”

The show starts at 8pm till very late.
