Injury sidelines Dzvukamanja

SUPERSPORT UNITED coach, Gavin Hunt, has revealed that Terrence Dzvukamanja is nursing an injury sustained during a CAF Confederation Cup clash away to Al Hilal Benghazi last week.

Dzvukamanja, who has four goals in the current campaign, missed SuperSport United’s 2-1 comeback win over Moroka Swallows in a DStv Premiership match.

Speaking to the South African media after their win over Moroka Swallows, Hunt said the absence of Dzvukamanja affected his game plan.

“Terrence got a hell of a knock in Liberia. It was a big blow because he gives me so many options, he can play wide as well for us you know?

“So we are lacking, well, we don’t have options. When we played Mamelodi Sundowns we had eight DCC players on the bench…,” said Hunt.

SuperSport United welcome Libyan side Al Hilal Benghazi in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane tonight.

Tonight match is a crucial one for the home side who lost 2-1 in the first leg on the road last week.

“The mood in the camp is good at the moment.

“It had been a while since we had got a win and the pressure was building, so you can tell that the guys feel like a weight has been lifted off our shoulders. Training has been fun and the spirits are high.

“After losing to this outfit in the reverse fixture, we know that it won’t be easy, but we are confident that with the home ground advantage, we will get all three points,” said the United midfielder Jesse Donn.

United are going into this match highly motivated after winning a domestic league match against Moroka Swallows last week with substitutes Tenda Matodzi and Etiosa Ighodaro on the scoresheet. – Sports Reporter/SuperSport.
