UK based songstress Jane Doka has unleashed an exciting video to her high riding single Gore reMakomborero.
The multi-award-winning musician who has produced four albums, one live DVD recording and two singles since she came onto the music scene in 2008 said she is excited about the production which she hopes will preach hope to her followers in Zimbabwe and across the world.
“Music is ministry for us and I am happy that through Gore reMakomborero we are preaching a message of hope for all. God is more than able to change our story and through the highs and lows of life he remains our trusted source and rock of salvation.
“The video to the song is therefore a visual illustration of God’s power to change circumstances starting at individual level through to community and national level. Nothing is too big for our God and we must believe him for a breakthrough,” Doka told the media.
The songstress, who is also a worship leader, businesswoman and philanthropist said the song was a reflection of her own life experiences but with a bearing on the general life outlook for all and is a precursor of many other productions under her flagship series titled ‘The Faith Project’.
“The song ‘Gore Remakomborero’ marks the beginning of a journey of releases from my upcoming music project which I have entitled ‘The Faith Project’. As the title of the overall project suggests, the concept of ‘faith’ is central to the songs I will be releasing.
I am working with the Star FM Listener’s Choice Award Winning producer Nigel Nyangombe on this project and I more than certain that God will minister to his people in a special way through this music.
We are taking every production as an opportunity to preach about God’s saving power and his ability to transform lives and we invite all gospel music lovers to join us on this journey,” she said.
Jane Doka who is a pastor together with her husband Michael Doka said she was inspired by her life experiences to pen the song Gore reMakomborero.
“The song was born out of my difficult experiences. I wrote this song at a time when I was reflecting on my own life and some challenges I was facing and began recording it and other songs at the end of 2019.
“In January 2020, before concluding production I suddenly fell seriously ill that I almost lost my life. Whilst I was still recovering, the Covid-19 pandemic began around March 2020 and the rest of the year had so much pain, suffering and confusion for people worldwide, me included. Indeed, this pain has continued into 2021 but all hope is not lost hence we declare Gore reMakomborero,” she said.
The Gore Remakomborero Official Video was recorded in London and directed by Doyin Ajakaye of Simplicity Studios and Doka said the video script depicts a message of hope with close leaning on a pro-Zimbabwe theme.
“The video was recorded in London and directed by Doyin Ajakaye of Simplicity Studios. It’s a portrayal of hope for all and a declaration that God is changing our sorrows for joy even amidst the challenges.
“We are not singing about a specific year but a season of plenty as a proclamation of faith. We invite Zimbabweans from all walks of life and all gospel music lovers across the world to enjoy this song and declare that it is season of blessings, Gore reMakomborero,” she said.
Jane Doka has been nominated and won multiple awards including Gospel Artist of the Year at the Zimbabwe Music and Arts Awards (ZIMMA), Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA), the prestigious Africa Gospel Music Awards and Permican Awards. She was also appointed a panellist in the ZAA Committee in 2012-2013, which was a group of industry specialists that sought to recognise talent in various sectors including music.
