UNRIVALLED queen of worship and praise Janet Manyowa ushered believers and non-believers into the festive mood on prayer during a well-attended coordinated virtual concert held last Sunday.

The heavily subscribed pay per view concert was held at HICC where lucky fans including a few selected journalists were invited.

On the special night Janet was launching her EP entitled Sounds of Victory, she also serenaded fans who had had missed her in action.

Not only did Janet enthrall fans, she literally left many yearning for paradise at the show set to remain engraved in the minds of many.

Powered by Rainbow Tourism Group’s Gateway Streaming application, forked out ZW$100 to download the application in what could be a first for Zimbabwean artistes to monitise online shows.

For the greater part of Covid-19 lockdown, most local shows held online benefited mostly network providers as local promoters  and artistes took long to realise they can monitise their virtual performance.

And it took Janet’s handlers who then followed their international trends, paving way in what could be a win-win situation for both artistes and show organisers.

Rising gospel artistes Joshua Mtima and Bulawayo based comedian Nceka warned the stage before Janet’s closing act.

It was a show to remember as Janet played both old and new numbers on a special night a few selected fans braved the chilly weather while others at home watched the three-hour energy sapping performances on their gadgets.

As was promised, Janet’s handers adhered to the Covid-19 restrictions where a limited number attended the show at HICC.

“We would have loved to have as many people as we can but we are following the Covid-19 regulations,” he said.

Prior to the show, Janet’s manager Munyaradzi Manyowa had expressed their wish to invite many people but were adhering to the Covid-19 restrictions.

Janet is one of the most consistent divas who have taken Zim gospel to greater heights owing to her creative edge.

Over the years, she has bagged a number of gongs with corporates trailing her for endorsement deals.

She is also credited for her charity work as she closely works with fans, less privileged members of the society and orphans.

For her efforts and professional approach to arts business, Janet has been hold a number of online shows for the greater part of 2020 when most of her peers were grounded at home owing to the Covid-19 induced lockdown.
