CONTROVERSIAL activist, Paddington Japajapa, who was on police wanted list for inciting post-election violence was arrested on Sunday in Gweru.
Chief police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the arrest saying he is expected to appear in court today.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police would like to confirm the arrest of Paddington Japajapa in connection of inciting public violence at the recently ended harmonised elections,” said Snr Ass Comm Charamba.
“He was arrested in Gweru and was escorted to Harare and detained at Harare Central police Station,” she said.
Japajapa was interviewed by journalists who were covering 2018 Harmonised Elections and his video circulated on social media promising to cause chaos if the Presidential results do not go in favour of MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa.
