Jibilika Dance Trust in collaboration with Ventstainment will host its dance auditions titled African Legends Dance Auditions at Woods Club Sensation housed at Long Cheng on February 15 and 28.

In an interview, Jibilika Trust Operations manager Mukudzei Nyamhamba said the main purpose of the event is to keep the dance culture alive.

“The event is to keep the dance culture alive and to make sure that the dancers are as competitive and creative as possible because we realised the dance culture is slowly dying.

“In relation to Jibilika Trust, we will have two different auditions on different occasions.

“On the 15th of February, the auditions will run from 11:00am -4pm.

“Dancers will have to audition and compete for three categories that are Solo, Duo and Group but each has got its registration fee.

“There are three main categories of the dances that is, Hip-hop, Afro Fusion and Hip-hop breaking, however, there is no limitations to the genres of the event,” said Nyamhamba.

He added:

“Jibilika will manage in terms of the programming to make sure that the dance competition event goes on well smoothly.

“Ventstainment will manage the event side of things that is on YouTube and social media managing broadcasting of the event which will be live.”

Nyamhamba stated the prizes to be won on the main event.

“There are many prizes to be won on the day. The grand prize is US$ 4 000.

“However, the date of the main event will be announced sometime in April,” he said.
