CAPS United midfielder Joel Ngodzo says they have a chance of reclaiming the Premiership after winning 2-1 against Highlanders at the National Sports Stadium yesterday.
Highlanders were first to score through Ray Lunga in the eighth minute before Kelvin Ndebele equalized in the 29th minute and Clive Rupiya scored the winner five minutes later.
Makekepe are now a point behind log leaders FC Platinum and Ngodzo says their chances of being champions are now high.
“We’ve been playing well in the past two games and have collected maximum points. We’ve also been trying to correct our mistakes.
“I think we are okay with the position where we are right now, we just have to maintain this formula and try to collect as many points as possible.
“We are happy that we managed to win this game and it’s been two games in a row. It’s something that makes us happy and would love to have this spirit in every game,” he said.
Champions FC Platinum dropped points yesterday when they lost 2-0 to Triangle at Gibbo, while Chicken Inn who are also in the title race also dropped points when they drew 1-1 with Yadah on Saturday.
Ngodzo says the dropping points of the big games gives them an advantage.
“We have an advantage because the big teams have been dropping points.
“We also have to make sure that we get early goals, I think that’s what we need to work on.
“If the teams which we are competing with drop points then it’s good for us,” he said.
“We are a big team and I think it will be good for us to be champions. We want to do it for us as players and the fans who have been with us in winning and losing .
“We will make sure that we will do our best.”
