President Mnangagwa has appointed Justice Mary Zimba-Dube as the new judge president.
Justice Zimba-Dube assumes the role after former judge president George Chiweshe was recently promoted to the Supreme Court bench.
Meanwhile, Fortune Chimbaru, has also been appointed as the deputy Attorney General.
“His Excellency the President has appointed two women in top judicial offices.
“Justice Mary Zimba-Dube is the new judge president to take over from Justice George Chiweshe who was recently promoted to the Supreme Court.
“Mrs Fortune Chimbaru has been appointed deputy Attorney General,” said Justice Legal and Parliamentary Affairs permanent secretary, Virginia Mabhiza.
Before her appointment, Fortune Chimbaru was the Director Civil Division of the Attorney General’s office.
Swearing in for the incoming judge president has been slated for this Tuesday in the capital.
